Grafton Stables Nature Reserve

In 2026 Grafton Stables was designated the northernmost county reserves in Surrey.
After an intense clean-up operation, Cuddington had a nature reserve!
We invite residents and visitors to submit wildlife sightings - birds, invertebrates, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

Our local river is one of only 210 chalk streams on the planet.

Grafton Stables

Home to rare bird species, wild mammals, native plants. Wildflower meadow with butterfly species. Woodland. Circular level walk. Please take litter with you and dispose of dog waste in the bin provided.

The Hogsmill Walk

The Hogsmill River can be followed to Ewell Village, or a local short walk along Gunpowder Road, Old Malden Lane. There is an information board near the entrance door of the nearby Hogsmill Tavern.

Tolworth Court Farm

The Wild Tolworth Project is run by Citizen Zoo. It comprises a wetland, wildflower meadow, grazing project and views of the River Hogsmill and Bonesgate stream.

Chamber Mead/Hogsmill LNR

Where Green Lanes Stream meets the Hogsmill. Waterfowl, including Kingfisher - and Water Vole can be seen. The Local Nature Reserve (LNR) follows the Hogsmill into Ewell Village.

Horton Country Park

Public golf, crazy golf, restaurant, childrens' farm - surrounded by beautiful countryside. Level walking, good boots advised in winter months. Parking is available, car park closes at dusk.

Epsom Common SSSI

Site of Special Scientific Interest. Lower Mole Partnership and Natural England contribute to long-term management and conservation. Cared for by EcoVols volunteer group .

Nonsuch/Warren Farm

Henry VIII's Royal Park and hunting ground that once included Cuddington! The remainder is a beautiful park and former farmland, now 50ha of meadow that is rich in wildlife.

Epsom Downs

The home of the Derby. The scientist Robert Hooke performed experiments here and it was once the home of Mrs Beeton! Amazing "walk on the chalk" out to Walton and Headley.
